“Grafskrift” (Engraving) is based on a song about a man who died in 1821 and serves as a kind of literal epitaph, or gravestone engraving. It’s traced back to an Icelandic woman, Jórunn Waage who learnt the song from her father and was collected in the “Bible” of Icelandic Folksongs.
