Pohjola is not only A. Blomqvist’s second release on the label, but also a deeply personal and evocative work that pays homage to the composer’s heritage and the enduring spirit of Finland. 

“It is a tribute to my roots as a Finnish composer,” says A. Blomqvist of the record. “The album has a specific mission: to touch people. Creating music like this requires a willingness to be vulnerable, to let go of your burdens and follow your instincts. Pohjola is
my voice, and it describes the humble beginnings of creation.”

Today, along with the album, A. Blomqvist proudly shares a music video for the single “Nocturne,” which he describes as “easily one of the greatest melodies I have ever written as a composer.”
